The Zone

Steeped in legend and myth, this part of Virtua Island was dubbed the 'Monster Zone' as creatures of legend, the Goliaths, freaks of nature, dark magic and more are all rumoured to exist there.

Environment

The Monster Zone has two distinct areas:

The Edge Zone

The Edge Zone is where the Monster Zone community resides, and runs along the northwest coast of Virtua Island. Cribs in the Monster Zone have their own unique look and style.

Monster Park

Monster Park is where the Monsters reside, and where breeding and more gamified events will occur. Monster Park is separated from the Monster Zone community by an electrified wall, and is divided into four areas with deep connections to the four elements (Fire, Water, Earth, and Air).

The Legend of the Monster Zone

The first titan "Teras" was one of the first creatures that ever existed on Virtua Prime.

It is said that Teras was an inter-dimensional beast so huge that its roar rattled Virtua Prime. Lakes were formed where it stepped. When Teras died, its body slowly started decomposing - and over millions of years, the organic matter created mutagens that warped the life which emerged from this zone.

The first creatures to emerge were the Goliaths, which had certain characteristics that reflected their nature. Monsters with the same elemental nature started living in the same areas, which in turn created regions. Each region had one of the four elemental natures.

Monster Drops

Being a part of the Monster Zone means that you are the first to participate in collections of new, exciting creatures.

Goliaths

Season 1 of the Monster Zone will focus on the Goliaths. These are immense creatures of indescribable strength and power, apex predators that have found a way to live in relative harmony with each other while respecting the various boundaries of the Monster Zone. The Goliaths are based on the predominant elements within each area of Monster Park.

Monster Utility

Ownership of a generative Monster includes enhanced utility within Virtua Prime. Specific utility within the Monster Zone is defined with each drop or season.

For the Goliath Season 1, utility is broken down as follows:

  • Display a Goliath in your Crib

  • Mind-control a Goliath so you can traverse the Monster Zone. Restricted access to regions not matched to the Monster type (future gameplay)

  • Train and equip a Goliath for future battle (future gameplay)

Monster Hub

The Monster Hub is an immersive area linked to the main Virtua Hub. It acts as the jumping-off point for most people to be introduced to the Monster Zone, and also functions as an educational center and social space.

Users will be able to walk through the Monster Hub experience, in a similar way to walking through a museum.

Within the Monster Hub, you will find:

  • A detailed breakdown of the Monster Zone's lore, outlining how the Monster Zone came to be

  • Monster exhibits that show visitors what can be found within the Monster Zone, along with descriptions and further details about each Monster

  • Examples of relics and resources that can be found within the Monster Zone, and details about their use cases

  • Details about the Monster Zone Breeding Facility, along with the list of upcoming generative drops

  • Examples of Monster Cribs (outside view only)

  • A shop where you can equip your avatar to venture into Monster Park

  • A place to hire a Monster to navigate the Monster Zone (future development)

  • Twitch videos of battles and breeding releases to the wild. (future development)

Breeding Facility

The Breeding Facility lies within the Monster Zone, and new Monsters will spawn here. Season 1 shall focus on the Goliaths outlined above, with a specific focus initially on the Earth-based Goliaths.

It will be possible to watch the release of new drops into the wild from screens within the Monster Hub.

Within the narrative, the Breeding Facility will be the location from which the generative Monster drops occur. A fixed percentage of primary sales revenue from generative drops within the Monster Zone will be distributed amongst eligible landowners.
