The Lore
In a distant corner of the Metaverse, exists a planet called Virtua Prime. It was a beautiful world, rich in resources and home to a diverse range of life forms. However, its peace was shattered … This is the story.
As Virtua Prime continued to expand and new cities emerged on Virtua Island, Science Bots from all corners of the world worked tirelessly to advance the technology that would make travel between them faster and easier. In the many labs scattered throughout Virtua, scientists experimented with various portals and gateways, seeking to close the distance between cities and bring vFlects and Virtuans closer together. However, one such experiment went terribly wrong when a portal collapsed within itself, opening a rift to another world and unleashing monstrous creatures into Virtua Island. These creatures, never before seen in the virtual world, wreaked havoc on cities, laying waste to fields and forests alike. The inhabitants of Virtua Island were powerless to stop them, and the destruction threatened to unravel the very foundations of Virtua's expansion. No-one on Virtua Island was safe from them.
In response to this threat, the Sentience, an AI sentinel of the galaxy, created a team of ten god-like defenders, each imbued with incredible power and technology. They were known as the "Eternal Titans" each possessing immense power and skill beyond that of any mere mortal. Their strength was renowned throughout the universe, and their loyalty to their planet and its inhabitants was unwavering. Their duty was to protect Virtua Prime from any harm that might come its way.
For a time, the Eternal Titans were successful in their mission. While the best and brightest minds in Virtua Island came together to fortify and create a shield around the metropolis called Virtua City, they battled tirelessly against the invading monsters, pushing them further and further North until they forced the monsters to retreat to a region which became to be knows as the 'Monster Zone'. However, the cost of this victory was immense - only four of the Eternal Titans survived the grueling conflict, barely operational...
As days turned into weeks, the reports from the Monster Zone grew more and more terrifying. Rumors of a new, more powerful monster began to spread like wildfire. The few brave souls who dared venture into the Monster Zone returned with tales of destruction and devastation, describing behemoths so powerful and cunning that they seemed almost invincible, monsters possessing the power to tear apart entire cities with a single swipe of their massive claws. They named them… the Goliaths.
The 4 surviving Eternal Titans were no match for these monsters. The realization hit them like a thunderbolt - they were the only thing standing between the Goliaths and the destruction of Virtua Prime. So they made the ultimate sacrifice, willingly offering up their own bodies to the vFlect engineers and scientists of Virtua City. It was a risky move, one that could have easily backfired - but they had no other choice. With the Titans' power, the scientists set to work creating a new breed of defenders:
The Guardians.
The creation of The Guardians was a massive undertaking, requiring countless hours of research and experimentation. The scientists and engineers of Virtua City worked tirelessly, pouring over every scrap of information they could gather about the Titans and their abilities. It was a daunting task, full of risk and uncertainty, but they pressed on regardless. Day after day, week after week, they toiled away in their labs, pushing the limits of science and technology to create something truly remarkable. The initial prototypes of the Guardians were uncontrollable and unstable, leading to catastrophic events. But eventually, after months of hard work and sacrifice, the team succeeded in creating 999 perfect Guardians. As the Guardians took their place on the front lines, the inhabitants of Virtua Prime looked on in awe and wonder. They knew that these brave warriors were their last hope, the only thing standing between them and annihilation. However, not everyone was happy with the idea of only 999 Guardians. Many individuals and organizations desired more power and wanted to create their own Guardians.
The scientists and engineers responsible for the creation of the Guardians were unwavering in their conviction that the technology should never be used for such purposes. In order to prevent anyone from abusing the information and creating their own Guardians, they destroyed all records of their research and experimentation, including failed attempts.
The decision to limit the number of Guardians to 999 means that each Guardian is incredibly valuable and important. Each one carefully selected and trained to ensure that they are capable of carrying out their duties to the highest standards. The fate of the planet now rests on their shoulders.
